Research Focus)
My primary research areas include labor economics, personnel economics, and health economics. I specialize in studying various aspects of work, with a particular focus on issues related to long working hours, the impact of working conditions on health, and the reciprocal relationship between health and productivity.
Biography)
I earned my Ph.D. in Commerce from Keio University after completing my B.A. in Economics from Keio. Prior to my current position as a faculty member at Waseda University, I held roles at respected institutions such as the Bank of Japan, Hitotsubashi University’s Institute of Economic Research (as an Associate Professor), and the Institute of Social Science at the University of Tokyo (also as an Associate Professor). Additionally, I actively contribute to public service, serving as a member of the Labor Policy Council and the Social Security Council at the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, among other positions. In the private sector, I am honored to hold positions including Faculty Fellow at the Research Institute of Economy, Trade and Industry within the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, an advisor at UTEcon, and a board member of the Human Resources Service Industry Council.
